When it comes to telephone based systems that are heavily utilized by businesses, VoIP, or Voice Over Internet Protocol, is one of the most used and sought after services out there. This is because it runs over an Internet connection, so a business does not have to pay the high prices required to maintain a direct landline. Of course, there are other benefits of using the VoIP system, as it is more than just a means of calling individuals or receiving phone calls.

Door Buzzer

If you have a security system installed inside of your business or office, you might want to be able to talk to someone before you buzz them into the building and grant them access past a certain point. With VoIP, this is possible as you can integrate an entry point service. VoIP allows you to connect the wireless based lock controls and the VoIP service together, so you can talk to someone on the other side of the door, wherever it is in the building, and grant them access.

Voicemail to Email

Sometimes you just don’t have time to listen to your voicemail. You might be in a location where it is not possible to listen to anything due to the noise it creates. This doesn’t mean you won’t be able to read a message though. Choosing the right VoIP phone system could mean finding on with a transcription feature, which makes it possible to have a voicemail converted over to email, so you can read the message and respond accordingly. This way, if you are in a meeting or noisy location, you can receive the message and respond, without any sort of problem.

Music on Hold

For many phone systems, you have to integrate an on hold feature that plays music, messages or helps entertain your customers and clients. Choosing the right VoIP phone system, however, makes it possible to directly add music on hold, which has been proven to keep individuals on hold longer, as the time move faster while listening to music instead of just static air.

While there are many other improvements and additions to a VoIP service, these are just some of the added benefits.
